Kitchen Update

Unfortunately I’m not only the designer (the best bit) but also the decorator and quite often the labourer too in our house, so the rest is down to me. ��

It’s all the cutting in of the paintwork and the sanding down that I really dislike, although I do sometimes manage to persuade my husband to help with the sanding. Who’s the decorator in your house?

I want to paint the table too, with a heavily distressed off white finish, but I have far too much business work going on at the moment to even contemplate it. ��

Beautiful Bunny Egg

How exquisite are these beautiful materials I’ve been working with today. Do you think ‘the Sisters’ @sostrenegrene will approve of my decor of their paper mache blank egg? ��

I’m currently producing an online kit version of how to make some of these adorable eggs so you can have the joy of making them too. ��

It will be available from my shop as a PDF document download. ��

I have to warn you though, they’re very addictive and they also make the most beautiful gifts and Easter table decor. Omg just thinking about makes me want to make loads more right now to put on my Easter table! ��

... revisiting my journey

When I was 19 years old I set up my first business designing and creating baby products such as exquisite Moses baskets, tiny rocking chairs with broderie anglaise covers, teddy bear mobiles and new baby gift baskets filled with handmade gifts for newborns. ��

I named my business Sarah Joanne Designs and hand drew my business card design which was a stork carrying a baby and had them printed onto baby pink card. ��

Some years ago I started a blog, and as I have always had an abundance of chandeliers and baby pink roses in my life, hence that’s what it was called. ��

I have always continued to use Sarah Joanne Designs for some aspects of my business, alongside Chandeliers & Roses, but as my business has grown hugely, it can be confusing for some of my customers who see different names all related to me. ��

I knew in my heart that I needed to make everything consistent across all platforms and although Chandeliers & Roses speaks volumes about me, (as you will have gathered!) it doesn’t convey all the services and products I provide. ��

As nearly all aspects of my business are about my designs, I have gone fully back to my roots and now everything is under the same name of Sarah Joanne Designs , as its most definitely not good business sense to confuse your customers! ��

I have a lot of exciting projects at the moment, involving lots of hard work and late nights and I can’t wait to share them with you as they come to fruition! ��
